Jewel and Lily

Jewel is a 77 year old homebound Meals on Wheels senior who lives alone in Northeast Houston. Jewel has difficulty getting around the kitchen and cannot stand for long periods of time. Jewel never had children and has very few family members left to look out for her. Her only companion is her dog, Lily. “I like having Lily with me all day,” she said. “I’d be really lonely without her.” Because of her limitations, Jewel is not always able to buy dog food for Lily.

Through the aniMeals on Wheels program, volunteers deliver dog food each month to Jewel and Lily’s home to ensure Lily’s food bowl is full.

It is because of your support the aniMeals on Wheels program is able to help seniors like Jewel and pets like Lily. To feed all  1,110 pets in the aniMeals on Wheels program this summer we need to raise $16,000. Will you help?
