Ann and Kity

Ann is a 69 year old homebound Meals on Wheels client who lives in Southwest Houston. She uses a wheelchair and relies on an oxygen tank when she is short of breath. Her health doesn’t allow her to cook, so she receives a hot meal once a day from Meals on Wheels for Greater Houston. She is often lonely but Kity, her cat keeps her company. Ann tries her best to provide for Kity but her limitations often prevent her from being able to buy Kity cat food. “I didn’t want Kity to go hungry so I would give him some of my own food,” said Ann.

A few months ago, Ann and Kity started getting pet food through the aniMeals on Wheels program. The aniMeals program, with the help of volunteers, delivers pet food once a month to Ann and Kity’s home. “The volunteer who brings it is lovely and Kity just loves the food! It’s a real help!” said Ann.

It is because of your support the aniMeals on Wheels program is able to help seniors like Ann and cats like Kity. We need your help this summer to feed the 1,110 pets in the aniMeals on Wheels program.
