aniMeals on Wheels April Pet Food Drive

IM’s aniMeals on Wheels program delivers pet food to the four-legged friends of Meals on Wheels clients so that our seniors don’t feel compelled to share their limited resources with their animal companions.

Many Meals on Wheels seniors are isolated from family and friends. Their pets provide them with much-needed companionship, exercise and affection. The goal of the Meals on Wheels program is to eliminate senior hunger and food insecurity throughout the Houston area, but it can only be successful if the pets of Meals on Wheels clients, which enrich their owners’ lives in so many ways, don’t go hungry either.

IM’s April aniMeals on Wheels pet food drive was a huge success, collecting 7,845 pounds of pet food for seniors. Special thanks to Arne’s Warehouse and Party Supply who generously contributed 3,291 pounds. IM is grateful to the volunteers who helped us collect and repackage the food and the local retailers and businesses that helped us promote the drive. We couldn’t have done it without you!
