Houston SPCA Pet Food Drive for aniMeals on Wheels

The Houston SPCA will be holding a pet food drive benefiting Interfaith Ministries’ aniMeals on Wheels program July 16-22. Many Meals on Wheels seniors are isolated from their family and friends and depend on their four-legged friends for companionship, exercise and affection. aniMeals on Wheels was founded so that no senior would have to make a choice between feeding themselves and feeding their pets.

Through the program, 200 volunteers deliver more than 7,000 lbs. of donated dog and cat food to more than 450 seniors and 1,000 pets each month. To help seniors keep and provide for their beloved friends, you can drop off unopened dog or cat food at the Houston SPCA (900 Portway Drive) from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. You can also drop the food off at Interfaith Ministries (3217 Montrose Blvd.) from 8: 30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
